• Project: B-1792 F-16 Flight Simulator Building

Owner: Department of the Air Force, Air Force Reserves 301st CONF

    Architect: Jacobs Engineering

  • iiCON Construction was selected as the best value for the 301st CONF/LGC to build an addition to the existing flight simulator building at the Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, TX.
This project consists of an independent building adjacent to the existing and is a certified SCIF rated facility. The project totals 2,800 square feet and was the highest priority facility for the client on the base. Because of the secure nature of the facility, a challenge of the project was to coordinate the new construction efforts and connections to existing services, while maintaining the existing operations. iiCON focused efforts on the preplanning process and successfully completed over 80% of our submittal and coordination process prior to mobilizing to the job site. Through the coordination process, our team was able to evaluate existing service capacity and redesigned services early in the project so that it would not affect the schedule.
Through our early efforts, we were able to reduce the onsite impact of the construction process by 5 months, completing the project two months early. As a result we received an Exceptional rating across the board from our Contracting Officer and Site Inspection Team. This project validated the concept of true collaboration with all of the interested parties working together for a common goal.
  • The quality of iiCON's work was exceptional and the best seen to date out here at NAS Fort Worth JRB, Texas. iiCON did and exceptional job of keeping project costs under control. The project management was beyond exceptional and the best ever seen in the COR's 20 plus
    years of construction management.

I would put them in the top 1% of contractors I've worked with.
